Anxiety

Anxiety (also called angst or worry) is a psychological and physiological state that includes somatic, emotional, cognitive, and behavioural components. Anxiety is characterised by feelings of fear, worry, uneasiness, and dread. Although it is considered to be a normal reaction to a stressor, it may be excessive or out of proportion to the event or chronic such that it gets in the way of their interpersonal or work functioning. When anxiety becomes excessive, it may fall under the classification of an anxiety disorder. Sometimes it presents in terms of panic attacks or more specific conditions such as health or social anxiety or related conditions such as obsessive compulsive disorder.
